Do I need to have played before?

No, Kempsey Hornets welcomes all players regardless of their skill levels.

What is the minimum age for registration?

The minimum age is 5 years old. 

How much will it cost?

The youngest age groups begin at $93 for the full season. The cost of playing varies slightly with each progressive age group.

Who are the people that run the club?

The Kempsey Hornets Football Club is run by volunteers, mostly parents like yourself and as with all Clubs, the success of the club depends on the level of the parent’s  involvement.

What do the registration fees pay for?

Fees include referee fees and insurance as well as registration fees to Football Federation Australia, Northern NSW Football Federation, Football Mid North Coast and Kempsey Hornets. A full breakdown of Rego Fees can be found under General Information/Registration

What age group should I sign up for?

If you are turning 7 this year you would play in the under 7s team, turning 8 the under 8s team and so forth as the age progresses.

Can my child play in a team with his/her friends?

Yes providing the ages of the friends do not differ by more than 12 months.

I have more than one child playing is there a family discount?

Kempsey Hornets offer a family discount to large families. Our club also runs a Rego Raffle to help families cover the costs of
registration.

When will I know what team my child is in?

You will know what team your child is in upon registration. If their are enough players to form a second team your child where
possible will be placed in a team with other players they are familiar with. 

What equipment do I need to buy?

Players will need to purchase shinpads and football boots. Playing shorts, off field shirts and socks are available for purchase during the seson.
Kempsey Hornets has a "football boot pool" and players may borrow boots for the season. Our club would appreciate the donation of boots in good condition. 

Game strips (shirts) are supplied by the Hornets prior to each game.

When and where are the games played?

For ages 6 to 9 all games are played within the Kempsey Shire. 
For ages 10+ games are played within the Kempsey and Hastings Shires.

Is there a car pool available?

Yes. Car pooling can be arranged by speaking to your child's coach or team manager.

How long do the games last?

All players are to arrive at least 30 mins early to every game.

Game times are as follows:

U 6            2 x 15 min halves
U 7-9         2 x 20 min halves
U 10-12     2 x 25 min halves
U 13-14     2 x 30 min halves
U 15-16     2 x 35 min halves
U 18-YD1  2 x 35 min halves

Mens and First Grade              2 x 45 min halves
Womens and Reserve Grade   2 x 40 min halves

When and where does training occur?

All training sessions are held at the Kemp Street Fields from 4pm till 5.30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Please 
check with your team manager or coach for your training day. 

It's Raining! What do I do?

Rain does not automatically mean games are off. 
It is the state of the ground that determines whether matches proceed. 

You can check for ground closures by clicking on the FMNC rain cloud link under the index column. This link also provides a list of radio stations and listening times for wet weather announcements. If you are still unsure you may contact your team manager.

Is there an end of year Presentation Day?

Yes, at the end of the sesaon our Club holds a Presentation Day. All team players receive participation trophies, other special
club awards are also presented at this time.  

Do many girls play football?

Yes. Kempsey Hornets field a strong number of female players in all age groups.

Does the club have a Code of Conduct ?

Yes. The Kempsey Hornets Soccer Club endorses the Official Codes of Conduct set  by  Football Federation Australia.

How do I volunteer?

Kempsey Hornets welcome all parent involvement? If you would like to help our club there are many ways you can choose to 
do this. Below are some suggestions:

Car pooling
Be a team manager
Wash game strips
Helping in canteen
Line marking
Coaching
Assist the coach on training days
Helping set up or pack away equipment 
Join the committee
Working bees
Helping with Fundraising activities
Round Robins
